It is advisable to telephone at least one week in advance to book microfiche/film readers. Slots up to 3 hours may be booked in this way. It is also possible to book half-hour slots in person on the day only.

All readers using the Genealogical Collection (one of the Historical Collections) are asked to present a Portsmouth library ticket, CARN card, current student card, Armed Forces ID card or proof of name and address, such as a driving licence, on arrival each day.
