7. Electoral registers and polls books

7(a) Electoral Registers

Electoral registers for the City of York from 1832 to the present day. Registers for villages around York are kept from 1970 onwards

7(b) Poll Books

Eighteenth and nineteenth century poll books for the City of York and Yorkshire


8. International Genealogical Index (IGI)

1994 edition, available at York Reference Library on microfiche. It is necessary to book a microfiche reader in advance. Please give two weeks' notice


9. Unpublished Indexes

York Newspaper Index to subjects and people. Compiled by the library, it dates from 1728 to the present day
The Persons Index lists all obituary notices of York Citizens, some marriages and births, also insolvency notices and York firms and businesses


10. Parish Registers

A large collection of parish registers for many York churches and Yorkshire parishes. They are transcripts and copies. All those published by the Yorkshire Archaeological Society are available.
