PRONI has lists of researchers who will undertake searches on behalf of individuals who cannot visit PRONI in person.

The Department has published censuses for Ireland from 1841, but no census returns are held The Department has Griffiths Valuation 1848 (a census substitute) on microfiche for Ireland and in hard-copy for most of Northern Ireland
